Violinist Oren Ungerleider, 18, began playing the violin at age 6. He has received top prizes in concerto competitions hosted by the Arlington Philharmonic, Harvard Musical Association, New England Conservatory, Wellesley Symphony, and the BSO, among others. In addition, as a chamber musician, he has been a laureate in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, and was the founder of the Grand Prize winning quartet of the CMFONE International Chamber Music Competition in 2006. He has been invited to perform on the nationally broadcast radio show, "From the Top" with Grammy Award winning Bela Fleck, and to participate in the All-Eastern Orchestra of the United States. His past teachers were: Valeria Kuchment, Aideen Zeitlin, and Maria Benotti. Oren has performed in various venues all over the world, including Brazil, Venezuela, and China. He has studied at the Meadowmount and Encore schools of music under merit scholarships and currently studies with Lewis Kaplan at the Juilliard School.
