Virtuoso violinist Eric Silberger has emerged as one of the most amazing young talents of his generation, playing with "astonishing virtuosity," according to Nuvo; he is "bold, technically solid, charismatic" writes the Indianapolis Star. Eric has performed as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the US and around the world, including solo performances with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, among others. He has appeared at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Louvre in Paris, The Moscow International House of Music in Russia, Shanghai Grand Theatre in China, the National Arts Centre in Canada and more. Among numerous television and radio appearances in the US, Asia and Europe, Eric was featured on Radio France, STV in China, KBS in Korea, and WQXR, WFYI, FOX 59, WISH-TV, and WBAI-FM in the US, and has appeared in "Live from Lincoln Center," the "Perlman in Shanghai" telecast on PBS, and the "Kennedy Center Honors" on CBS. Eric has won the Violin Concerto Competition at Juilliard and the Toyota Award from the Association of Tchaikovsky Competition Stars. Eric has served as concertmaster of numerous orchestras.
Born to a musical family, Eric is a fourth generation musician. Eric began violin studies with his mother at the age of five; he currently studies violin with Glenn Dicterow, Concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic. He has studied violin with Pinchas Zukerman, Itzhak Perlman, Robert Mann, Dorothy DeLay, Hyo Kang, Kurt Sassmannshaus and Ik-Hwan Bae. He was a scholarship student at the Juilliard Pre-College for six years. He has studied at the Indiana University School of Music, the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, the National Arts Centre Young Artists Programme, the Perlman Music Program and the Aspen Music Festival and School. In addition, he has studied conducting and plays piano. Eric is currently an honorary scholarship student at the Columbia University and the Juilliard School joint program. Besides violin studies, Eric is majoring in an economics and political science joint major with a concentration in mathematics, and he studies German and Chinese languages. He is CEO of Epresto Entertainment LLC, President of the Columbia University Classical Performers, Organizer of the Barnard-Columbia-Juilliard Concert Series at Miller Theater in New York City, Co-Founder of the Fourbythree Chamber Orchestra, Publicity Chair of the Columbia University Table Tennis Club, and the Columbia University Kung Fu Club. |
